About Me

Since my author name is J. Schlenker, I decided to name this blog Finding My J Spot. Actually this idea stemmed from my husband. I guess you can tell where his mind is. At our age, I hope his mind sort of stays there. Okay, one thing about me--I'm old, not that old, but old enough for senior discounts, which sometime I forget to ask for. And, the fact they don't give them to me automatically, I guess, is a good thing.

As, I said, I'm an author. I'm also a reader. Doesn't that go with writing? I was a reader long before I was a writer. The writing has been a recent thing, something that came with the old age thing or retirement. I figure, like Grandma Moses, I should make the last part of my life count. I began writing in 2008. Since 2015 I've published three books, Jessica Lost Her Wobble, The Color of Cold and Ice, and The Missing Butler and Other Life Mysteries (A Collection of Short Stories). All are fiction.

Before writing, came weaving. Some called me a fiber artist. I'm not sure I deserved that title. But, I love color and being creative. I'm also an artist. I'm not sure I deserve that title, but I do have an art degree. Oh, gosh, college was so many years ago. Live in the Now. That is my philosophy. Now, I have a great husband, daughter and grandchild, and live out in nature.

Nature is another one of my loves. So much so, I've decided to make it my first blog post. My husband and I have worked on trails around our house. Most of our property is woods. We also garden. We both struggle there.

Also, we both love projects. We do our own house projects and outdoor projects. We are currently working on a green house. We are always working on our fish pond. We don't even watch those do it yourself channels on television. We don't actually watch much television, unless you call binge watching certain programs on Netflix television. We do watch a lot of how to on Youtube.

And we are vegetarians. I'm not a fantastic cook, by any means, but sometimes I do get creative in the kitchen. You will see pictures and recipes (although I'm not great at following recipes) on here from time to time.

Last, but not least, I'm interested in spiritual things, mostly yoga and meditation, not that I'm any great in my practice. I've been told my writing is spiritual.

Hmm, I think I've covered my main interests.
